There's different levels of timing the market that are more or less destructive. Sometimes you just need a psychological crutch to feel like you're doing something. So for me, i did pay off my house, and i've never regretted. I feel great not having a mortgage payment. But it's not a contest for most money. It's just a contest for feeling good about your financial sit on and sleeping.
