The Nervous Thing About Learning Lines
I've never done any theatre at university or school. It's just one of those nice fantasies that you never have to engage with. The time sent me off to have an hour's lesson with somebody once on the basis that they could teach anybody to dance. She gave up with me after 35 minutes. I just can't do it. So I would have liked to have done that. But what I discovered is that I am pretty good at radio. And I like doing it. As you know, largely because you can kind of read your script without anybody seeing. Although these days that's difficult because they now insist on plonking a bloody camera into the radio.
