LZ Granderson: There is no yardstick for suffering and if there were, I would not want to use it anyway. He says we say that the worst thing that happened to us doesn't matter as compared to what? And compared by whom exactly? LZ: This is a hard thing to wrestle with, especially when things affect us directly. A runner was struck and killed by a driver who seemed to be impaired. That man has glioblastoma, which is the kind of brain cancer my husband died from in 2014. The internet all puts him on trial and convicts him because he is the worst.
