I think that we would do well as a society to get rid of a heck of a lot more data just because it sits there. It burns energy. It costs money and I'm sorry, you're going to really have to reach to convince me that the web server access logs from 2012 are in any way business valuable or relevant to basically anyone out there. Why aren't we using these resources more efficiently?
