As an Asian woman who grew up in a predominantly white community, I've always felt like my identity was reduced to those gross stereotypes of Asian women as submissive and exotic. Growing up in such a white community led me to internalize a lot of whiteness, which I still am unpacking today. Almost all of my serious relationships have been with white men who have always fetishized me to some degree. To be clear, this guy has never raised any red flags to me.
