Napoleon Part 5: Downfall in Russia

Real Dictators

CHAPTER

Napoleon and Marie-Louise

On March the 11th, 1810, Marie Louise drives her eyes and submits to the big day. Napoleon has not just embedded himself with the Habsburgs he's married into the very Bourbon dynasty that had been overthrown so violently back in 1792. By May 1811, at the Battle of Fuentes de Oñorro, the British break out of Portugal. A combined Anglo-Spanish Portuguese force begins rolling back the French all the way to the Pyrenees. The peninsula war introduces a new actor upon this stage - Sir Arthur Wellesley. He too would become the political leader of his country.
