The Importance of Free Will in Philosophy

How did you get interested in free will? Well, I think it's one of these things that people who are interested in philosophical questions generally get interested in easily and quickly. But for somehow, I got the impression from my friends at college or graduate school that it wasn't a question philosophers talked about anymore. That seemed both upsetting and amazing. And so I wanted to pursue it.
