Herde's Ideal for a Human Being
Voltaire, with considerable bib wit, produced those famous mocking alliances as to claim certain rights for the aristocracy simply because some ancient franks did and did not conquer france. Herde's ideal for a human being is what hegel afterwards, defined liberty as being by the selpstein to be at home. He roots the roos of this perhaps it goes back to tomasius in earlier german thinkers, in the eihtenth century. But mainly it has to be recognized as being original in herde himself.
