Prince needed someone to set up his home studio. The work of a tech is less stressful than the work of a record producer or anything in the arts because there is no clear answer as to what's the best performance. If something breaks I'm usually I would be the one in the room who has the knowledge and skill to track it down and fix it so that's when you feel a little bit like maybe like a soldier or a detective or a hero, he says.
