What Are Your Thoughts on Subtitles?
With native language subtitles, I don't think you're going to be learning that much. Most anime fans have watched hundreds of thousands of hours of English subtitled anime and most of them don't know very much Japanese. When you're watching a show with target language subtitles, it's kind of a hybrid between reading and listening. You hear the reflection patterns and the inflection patterns make it a lot easier to parse the grammar.
