Chamberlain was trying to find ways of creating a peace order that would actually prevent a new major war. The annexation of the Sudetenland is now well underway, with Hungary and Poland also waiting to pick at the Czechoslovakian carcass. Germany seizes two-thirds of its coal resources, 70% of its iron and coal deposits,. And Hitler has his eye on the rest too. They are rendered dumbstruck by all this action, all this dynamism, which suddenly has achieved a German empire in the middle of Europe.
