How to Train Yourself to Ignore Pain When Training
Athletes are better at tolerating pain than non-athletes and that this isn't necessarily something you're born with it's something you can train. A recent study out of a university in England compared two different cycling training programs one was a sort of steady just ride at a steady pace and the other was a high intensity interval program which is involved in during a bunch of discomfort a bunch of pain. The high intensity interval group increased their pain tolerance more and also increased their performance more so they both had the same physiological improvement but by being forced to cope with a painful stimulus they were able to endure a little bit more discomfort during a competition.
