Is the Lightning Network Scalable?

The Lightning network was derided as this just fun project that Bitcoiners are playing with. It would never be scalable. Here we are almost five years later, and it has reached significant adoption. I think the amount of like, private channels is more significant than, you know, what people think. And additionally, there's increased opportunity for more adoption, more ease of use.
