And I wonder whether part of what attracted you to that was because you could talk about the craft of theatre. But he was very exacting as well because when he had an acting career and was on stage more regularly than when we'd first known him, he certainly liked to be admired. If you didn't immediately rush in with praise, there was another frosty reception. He was enormously witty company to be with. Everybody knew that. All his friends enjoyed that. It's too late.
