The Importance of Exercise in Mental Health

In terms of modifiable risk factors, exercise is there. The only limitation is that we can't be too idealistic about it because often in severe mental illness, a lot of the illness is poor motivation and lack of energy. So, I think I feel our duty is to make sure we're having this transparent discussion about why it's so powerful. We have to do that in a motivational way, and also be able to take a step back and say, look, we understand that you are struggling with your mental health at the moment, but there may be certain opportunities where we can work on that.
