The Russian leader may be looking to have a punitive war campaign against ukrane, like in georgia in two thousand eight. I don't think russia uses nuclear weapons and ciber security issues just don't concern me too much. This is about controlling ground with men with guns, and controlling a air space above them. It's much more classic a conflict than people thought would happen.
