Hittite and the Temple and Palace Institutions

Hittite temple and palace institutions were big landholders, in addition to their religious and political administrative roles. The role of these institutions in the extraction, storage, distribution of grain we can see reflected in really massive storage facilities at the hitat capital, but also in other cities. There were also large underground grained silos that could feed about 30 thousand people for a year.
