Is Science a Verb?

I always think about science much more in terms of the rigor of the methods to pursue the truth, as opposed to the transparency with which we communicate what we did. My friend Natalia Reagan is a science communicator and she talks a lot about science is a verb. And I really like that. Science seems so mysterious to so many people. And one way to make it not so mysterious is to do it. But I would love my vision is for everyone in the world to at least have some idea of how to take a piece of data that they're interested in and get as far as generating a correlation or a simple linear regression.
