The Importance of Corporate Profit in the War

Jack Warner was a founding member of the AMPTP. At that same moment, the country's three biggest auto manufacturers were reacting differently to the crisis of war. What obligation does the corporation have to the public at large? Does it owe something to the country that it sits in, or is its only responsibility to pursue a profit? America provides its corporations with workers, customers, open markets, and little to no tax burden. Do the corporations owe America anything in return?
