And part of the reason is that algitms are very consistent, whereas human beings are very inconsistent. So i think for things like this, machine learning is very desir thing to use. In the particular case of medicine, it's not used more already because, of course, the doctors are also the gate keepers of the system and they're not very interesting in replacing themselves of their job that they like best by machines.
