Is Private Equity a Bad Guy?

I like the idea of private equity coming in and helping to align incentives. But I don't have a problem with some on identifying an asset or company and saying, this is being mismanaged. That does create a lot of psychological toll. With a family office, I'm thinking, well, wait a minute, I've done private equity deals and eight years later, I'm still owning it and I'll be happy to own it another 30 years.
