The Agricultural Year - The Mamma's Plays
Folk lorists had an idea that mamma's plays were prehistoric. There is no evidence for this whatsoever. The only relevance to agriculture is that a lot of the people performing them would have been agricultural laborers in need of money or more food. As we move into february, we are now looking at valentine's day, which is our next post christmas winter tradition.
