The Arabs Rebelled Against Abu Bakr's Leadership

The vast majority of them left the leadership and rebelled against Abu Bakr's leadership. The Arabs were not used to being under a central authority at all. They also didn't like the fact that they had to pay their zakat to Abu Bakr, to Medina. Some tribes saw Medina as a prize that they could take now that the prophet was dead. But for the most part, I'm pretty certain of this none of the tribes went back to idol worship. Don't ever believe that. They just didn't want to pay zakat. They just wanted to be independent.
