Is There Really a Difference Between Positive and Negative Trials?
The most important question to ask is, if there really was a difference, would this study have identified it, or do we have to worry about having missed that difference due to reasons attributable to chance and bias? Most of the time with negative studies, that we're worried about missing a real world difference. In this study, i'm actually not very concerned about a power leading to a false negative finding, and i'll tell you why. If you look at the point estimates for the primary outcome in table two, ok, you see that the odds ratio is really close to one, ok?
