Ukrainian forces are only able to operate within their own borders. They don't have the sort of long range weapons that will enable them to strike deep into russian territory. Some combination of bravery ingenuity, western weapons and western intelligence sharing helps explain ukraine's success. The more they have, the easier it will be for them to push the russians out.
