Mortgage Rates - What's Next?
Mortgage rates have risen from 7.37% to 6.14%. When that occurs, the next move is not up, it's down. That in itself is already happened. The question is the next stage. If mortgage-backed securities, if the spreads get better by themselves, you're 5.5 and a quarter, the 10-year yield falls a little bit more. I don't expect the spreads to get spectacularly better. There's some room down here if the growth rate of inflation. It's going to be a really exciting year. We've always done this. We've defeated the American bears always. Cycles come and go.
