Is There a New Definition of Pain?
The definition of pain has recently been changed to reflect those social and psychological components. Dr. Zafness says, the new definition leaves much to be desired, but it is an improvement upon past disco era definitions. "Pain can't possibly live exclusively in the body," she says.
