The Bank of England's Intervention in the Bond Markets

The value of sterling, which had already been slipping because of a stronger dollar, that fell even further. The bond markets determine the rates at which governments can borrow to pay for public services and also interest rates you may face on fixed rate mortgage deals. What we haven't seen from the bank of england yet is an emergency interest rate hike. It's to stop what's been a economic issue tipping into being a financial crisis.
