The English Expression of Talents in the Ancient World

Jesus tells a second parable about a man going out on a journey and he calls the servants together. He entrusts to them his property and it gives to each of them talents. The English expression of talents in that way actually flows out of the Christian interpretation of this. It's really Christian culture that gives us the idea that we all have unique talents by the way.
