The Most Dangerous Bias During Disasters
People hear about emergencies happening in other places, but they don't expect that can actually happen to themselves. One study shows that 70 % of all people suffered normalty by us during disasters. This has been used to describe why so many jews refused to leave germany and austria under notsy occupation until it was too late. It's almost like it's just hard to even accept something that's disruptive or different from what we're used. And i think there is a way to be a little bit more flexible and adaptable when a change comes our way.
