I always have this fear that I would be too like too cocky. Being asian american we've always been told to like stay humble. Um, the way our brains are wired if you haven't been able to let go of that self-consciousness. To just even turn down compliments that people tell you is so weird. And then for some reason I'm Almost still convincing myself like oh, they're just being nice to me When they're like, just telling me point blank that they admire the things I do or they admire like um, my commitment to certain things. It's not like you're fishing for compliments. They generally only are just saying it to us
