As something becomes more main strem fied, though, it actually expands. For example, in the forties, it would have been cringed to wear colourful clothing. But in the sixties, every one must wear colorful clothing. And so the thing that once used to be a cringe and associated with like, homophobic servis, was then not cringe because of social acceptance. Kind of ipes.
