How Many Deaths Would Have Been Expected Without the Pandemic?

The w h o used some clever maths to predict the number of deaths each country would have had without the pandemic. Germany, for instance, had more excess deaths than had expected because the base line was surprisingly low. Several other studies using different approaches have come up with numbers in the same ball park as the w h o. We will have to wait for the indian government to release its data from 20 21 to check how accurate these estimates are.
