How to Offer Food and Drink to Your Ancestors

My offerings to my ancestors are always food offerings. It's a very small amount because they're just very little offering dishes that I have for them on their altar. And then because these offerings are for ancestors or for the dead I specifically leave those offerings out to decay. My advice is don't leave them out so long that they start to draw pests but like those are not to be touched. Anything that goes on the ancestor altar belongs to them and stays with them and isn't part of my living world anymore.
