The book is kind of focused on the human story. So the specific slice of the possible futures. And it's something that is part of the duty. If your duty is to keep life safe, you have to consider all means to do so. Engineering life to save itself is definitely on that list. I feel like this sense of duty is, is applicable regardless of what state of matter your cognition is based in.
