I think he 100 percent believed it, 100 %. If you look at the documents and the evidence, there can be no doubt. He was convinced by nathan, and he was convinced by his own followers. By the end of his life, there's no doubt he completely believed it. And he believed that all these actions meant something spiritually. It was not fun stuff that he was indulging in. These were symbolic actions that were conveying. I do think it's likely that he and his followers, we're attracted to a lot of these taboo acts because it was a way of kind of psychologically rebelling against the repression.
