The Russians' Blocking Units Are Slowing Down Their Attacks
There have been mixed messages about how the Russians are holding up. There's some evidence they're falling back in a pretty well organized way and even sort of mount mounting counter attacks to protect their flanks as they go back now. Putin is very keen to send a message of reassurance not so much to troops at the front but equally important to the folks at home on Tuesday he addressed a group of journalists and mill bloggers. He wanted to tell them that all was well the Ukrainian counter offensive he presented as being on a massive scale resulting in heavy losses for the Ukrainians.
