By 1980 almost an entire generation of Hawaiians had basically stopped speaking the language fluently. Larry Kimura was 13 when he took his first Hawaiian class and says he remembers thinking back then that the teacher wasn't taking it seriously enough. Kaleo Hawaii, the voice of Hawaii, was hosted by a then 26 year old Larry Kimura. On this episode we're listening to the very first one. The show started in 1972.
