A Layering of Forms and Forms
A trope of mannerist architecture is taking classical forms and manipulating them in a non-classical way. Paladio's approach is the superimposition of two temples, which are superimposed on each other almost in bas relief. The main bit of the church is too tall so paladio has to raise it up on a plinth. He also uses thermal window and openings to make the proportions work.
