The History of the Low Carb Diet
The earliest documented low carb diet was in 1862 for those individuals who are interested in the history of things. A low carbohydrate diet is less than 26% carbohydrates or less than 130 grams of carbohydrates per day, which would be defined as the RDA. The Banting Diet and this was a lower carb protein focused whole foods diet that was so interesting. And then of course the Robert Atkins known as the Atkins diet in 1972, which defined low carb ranges - anywhere from 20 to 150 grams of carbohydrates daily.
