If you look at the winners so far in this space, it's largely being these big tech companies that could afford to spend enormous amounts of money throwing compute at the problem. If I had to guess for the near future, I expect that large amounts of compute are necessary but not sufficient and that we will still see huge budgets being funneled towards that. But as sort of the history of economies of scale in different areas has shown, often it is a case that a new entered comes out of nowhere with some totally new approach.
