The Fish Report - Is There a Rearrangement?
It depends on the type of probset that you're using and what you're looking for in any given fish sample. So we can generally do two things with fish. We can count numbers, so how many signals are there? Is there a gain or a loss of a chromozomer locus? And we can look at rearrangements, either by looking at a break in a jean, or by looking at two jeans coming together that shouldn't normally be together. The way to look for those rearrangements is, as you said, either with a dual colord dulfusion probe or with a break apart probe.
