CHAPTER

Is There a Pure Representation of Reasoning?

language models are fascinating they do what is basically a trivial objective. We don't appear to need explicit gradient updates often we can often induce it just by prompting in certain ways. The mechanism is not at all well grasped at this point and so we kind of end up bumping into it often. Can there be such a thing as a general prompt that would work on many different architectures or is it always going to be really this probing of the high-dimensional space to induce certain behaviours?
