Sally Kohn: I was fascinated by the idea of employee owned stock plans or ESOPs. She says they were started in 1974 as a part of the ERISA Act, an incentive Congress put in place to share ownership with workers. Kohn: The execution of that law was not optimal and so you talk about the execution. What do you think has been key to the execution of all of these plans?Kohn: Everything in life starts and stops with leadership. And if you have the right leadership at these companies and they care like at a deep level, because this is a ton of work to do well, they feel it's their responsibility.
