Introduction
In spring 2018, some 700,000 members fled the country amid a military crackdown in ethnic violence. The United Nations investigators said that Facebook was used to incite violence and hatred against a Muslim minority group. Myanmar may have used disproportionate force against Rohingya Muslims, but there is no proof of genocidal intent. For many in Myanmar's emerging economy, it's the only site they use online as it's so dominant.
