Michael Jacobs: The Head Executive Producer

There's two different types of producers. There's the creative producer, which is usually a writer with a lot of creative input for the overall show. And then there are producers, like we've talked about Karen McCain and Arlene Grayson, producer who are line producers. They're more like the executive branch of like the technical side of things. The director on a sitcom is in second position to the writing staff for the most part. It's a very important role for the actors.
