Men grow up with the sort of subconscious assumption that they should have control over their partner. And if a man is not working on actively trying to change it, like there's a great possibility that some of that ship will manifest itself in some way. Sometimes there are women who are abusing men in relationships. People don't believe that because it doesn't fit once again, the idea of what an abuser should look like or what abuse looks like.
