We don't know if microchips could ever be substituted for consciousness as the neural basis. I get nervous when people talk about replacing the brain, because i think it may lead to this phenomena, which i call brain drainte e - death of the subbject who starts replacing parts. These are philosophical issues that have no easy solution. And am i see th the really interesting questions as to how minds work and how things are related?
