In 1984 Mark had a band called Underworld and they were like a sort of a psychedelic sort of modern psychedelic band they were really good I really liked them a lot. He would give me live cassettes of them and stuff and I would learn all their songs but for whatever reason we decided he didn't rock hard so it did come down to between him and Jack Sherman right? "I don't know that I just want to talk off on a tangent because I don't you're talking" John's first memory of hearing about the red hat chili peppers is when he was 12 years old, playing guitar with this guy named Mark 9 from the Recycler who taught John his lessons
