The act of putting your thinking down in these more permanent representations can help guide you in some way. Until you start to actually write, you don't really know what it is that you have to say. And organizing that sort of mass isn't something you want to do with a list of notes in the notes tool. It's just there's just too much. We call this merchant information a merchant structure.
